The Blue Ridge Titans Field Hockey Club started with a summer camp in June 2014.  Since then, we have been laying the foundation to have a year-round club to support teams at the U10, U12, U14 levels.  We added a U16 team in the fall of 2016 as well.

Summer camp is a wonderful opportunity for all aspiring field hockey players to be exposed to the sport of field hockey.  Summer camp can simply be fun for beginners, but can also be a stepping stone for players who are interested in taking part in the club and trying out for the appropriate age level team in the fall.

Players are welcome and encouraged to register in the fall.  Try-outs are only held if the number of registrants exceeds the number we can accommodate.

During the winter months, the BRTFH club will practice field hockey skills in a fun and safe indoor environment. Those players who were on the fall team are eligible to play indoor.

In the spring, players who were on the fall team are eligible, but not required to play in the spring season.  Many players age up to a new division in the spring.  We do not have a U10 team in the spring.

More about BRTFH and our history:

In the fall of 2014 & 2015, the BRTFH club participated in events at Christopher Newport University (CNU) in Newport News, VA.  These experiences were both beneficial and a lot of fun for our players.

In spring 2015, we added a tournament to our schedule in Fredericksburg, VA.

In fall 2015, we added a play day and tournament with Potomac Field Hockey (PFH) located near Leesburg, VA.

In Spring 2016, we added a clinic and tournament at JMU, as well as games with PFH.

In the Fall of 2016, we had games and a tournament vs PFH, a tournament in Fredericksburg and a skills clinic at Shenandoah University (SU).  The U16 players also traveled to Downingtown, PA for a tournament, and had games and a tournament vs PFH.

We will continue to seek out appropriate, fun and beneficial competitions, clinics and tournaments in which to participate in the future.  If you have any in mind, please let us know!

As we progress and establish ourselves as a competitive travel club in the region, we have the desire to expose players of all ages to the sport of field hockey.  While we can only manage a certain number of teams per season, we encourage players to participate in field hockey summer camps and to try out in the fall for the coming year's events.

Our U10 team is a beginner team in nature and upper level teams will become more competitive as players gain experience through the club as time goes on.  While we are still young, we look forward to seeing how our club unfolds.  We sincerely appreciate the help and support of our volunteer coaches and parents and also look forward to creating a Board of Directors in the future.

We look forward to seeing you on the field!
